Datix appoints Dr Daniel Cohen as International Medical Director

We are pleased to announce the appointment of Dr Daniel L Cohen as International Medical Director. Prior to Datix, Dr Cohen was Chief Medical Officer and Executive Medical Director for the United States Department of Defense (DoD) health plan, which now provides healthcare services for over 9.4 million beneficiaries worldwide with a budget exceeding US $45 billion. During his time at the DOD, Dr Cohen provided senior level counsel for the organisation’s patient safety, clinical quality assessment, population health and medical management programmes.
During his distinguished career, Dr Cohen has held senior appointments at some of the world’s most prestigious academic institutions including the University of Cambridge and the Harvard Medical School. He is also a senior partner in the prominent US consulting firm Martin, Blanck & Associates, a leading healthcare advisory organisation that consists of individuals with extensive senior executive expertise as administrators, policy makers, clinicians and scientists.

Dr Cohen was initially trained in paediatrics and haematology/oncology at the Boston Medical Center, Boston University, and the Boston Children’s Hospital, Dana Farber Cancer Institute, Harvard Medical School. He is a Senior Fellow of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health and a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics.
